Cisco Certification FAQ

CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) is the associate-level certification and the recommended starting point. CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) is the next level and requires deeper knowledge across core and concentration exams. CCNA is a prerequisite for most CCNP paths.
The CCNA (200-301) is considered moderately difficult. It covers IP addressing, routing protocols, switching, security, and automation. Most candidates study for 2–4 months before attempting the exam. Using realistic practice tests like PassHow significantly improves first-attempt pass rates.
The CCNA 200-301 exam contains approximately 100–120 questions to be completed in 120 minutes. Question types include multiple choice, drag-and-drop, and simulation-based questions. The passing score is 825 out of 1000.
Yes. All Cisco certifications are valid for 3 years. You can recertify by passing a higher-level exam, passing any professional-level or expert-level concentration exam, earning continuing education credits, or passing the current version of the same exam before expiry.
